Seems I'm getting into a habit of posting every Tuesday as I hit another week marker. Unfort, there's not much to report in the in betweens. And I'm not complaining about that. This has been an easy pregnancy thus far, and I'm going to knock on wood for the remainder of the day that it stays that way.
Last night was our 14 weeks appointment and we finally got to hear Lil G's heart beat. I was worried, of course, and one of DH's friends had warned him that it could take awhile to find it, so he was a little anxious, too. But the NP found the baby in like 30 seconds. 148 BMP, loud and clear. Well, as clear as a doppler can be. Who knew whooshing would be so lovely? Everything else looks right on, so we have our next appointment at 18 weeks.
I also received the script to call and schedule our anatomy U/S for around the same time, and I'm already getting to excited for it. DH, well, he's like a kid who is starting the countdown to Christmas. I so want to know what Lil G is, and start moving forward with a name and a nursery for him/her, but I'm worried they won't be able to tell! I know two people who I work with that were told they were having girls, only to welcome little boys into the world 20 weeks later. I know there's a decent chance the tech will be able to tell, no prob, but I'm going to make them sign an affidavid that if they are not like 94 percent sure, they won't say anything. I'd rather join Team Green than have a so-so diagnosis. Can you imagine? Eeks.
I've lifted the popular baby blog survey that's been going around and think I'll start using it, too. I mean, why suffer through my rambeling when you can get the facts, quick and dirrrty? :)
How far along? 14 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: Back to my pre-preg weight, woot!
Maternity clothes? Not yet. Rocking the Bella Band with pride.
Stretch marks? Nope. Stay away!
Sleep: I'm having some issues here. I'm no longer supposed to sleep on my back, and getting used to the new side position is not going well. I keep shifted and rolling and I cannot get comfy. And then when I finally pass out, I wake up an hour later - on my back. And the whole process repeats. Blah.
Best moment this week: Hearing Lil G's heart beat, and seeing DH's face while he listened to it.
Movement: Nothing yet.
Food cravings: I needed a Quarter Pounder with Cheese yesterday. It's the first grease I have craved since getting pregnant, so I took it as a good sign and indulged.
Gender: We'll find out soon!
Labor signs: Lord no.
Belly button in or out? Still in.
What I miss: For the first time, I missed wine this week.
What I am looking forward to: First movements, getting a bump that doesn't look like fat.
Weekly wisdom: If you throw up within the first 5 minutes of waking up, the rest of the day is a cake walk.
Milestones: Hearing the heart beat.
